In 2025, Matt authored his first book, CPA Firm Strategic Planning: Your Roadmap for Long-Term Success (expected release in fall 2025). The book outlines Rosenberg Associates’ proprietary strategic planning framework, known as the 5i Proven Strategic Planning Process, and draws on the firm’s 30+ years of experience collaborating with clients who face complex challenges and tough decisions. It is a real-world take on how firms can set a long-term direction and follow through to achieve success.
Matt is also a regular author for the Rosenberg Associates blog, Inside Public Accounting and Accounting Today. He is a sought-after speaker on practice management topics at national accounting conferences and webinars.
He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser in business valuation, a certified professional coach and is trained in organizational change, mediation and new product design.
Early in his career, Matt worked in finance at a Fortune 500 company before transitioning into business valuation for venture-backed startups at Frank Rimerman, a top fifty firm. Later, he served as an expert witness on business valuation matters related to divorce and corporate disputes. Matt graduated from San Jose State University.
